JUNE 2026 – RELATIONSHIP WITH MONEY

WELCOME!

In planning my daily calendar, I took a moment to reflect on “Money”.  Specifically, the time “Money” occupies my thoughts and effect my decisions. My awareness began with a daily routine, for example, buying a cup of coffee, a train ticket, lunch to shopping for groceries.

I believe, I have a good relationship with money. I am comfortable, especially happy when I have covered my living expenses. I am a person who only spends money when I feel I can afford the purchase.

Like you, we learn and form a relationship with money at an early age.  Our family and community of mentors share their strategies and experiences in money management.

As adults it is our responsibility to continue to educate ourselves to keep up with advances in the financial world on how to best earn, invest and protect our Money through our journey of life.

What a surprise when I found, at my local library a book offering a distinct perspective relating to money “Unraveling Your relationship with Money – Ditch your money trauma so you can live an Abundant Life” by Shannah Game. 

Unraveling Your Relationship with Money is a resourceful guide to change thoughts and behaviors on how we interact emotionally with money.  Shannah states “what you think about matters, thoughts turn into feelings that drive your actions, patterns, and behaviors with money. She has listed 11 thoughts in her book that can hold back an individual from having a good relationship with money.

Shannah guides the reader through each of the 11 Money thoughts by sharing her individual experiences, client stories, as well as engaging the reader with reflective and long-term follow-up exercises to support and celebrate a new positive relationship with money.  

Topics discussed I found most insightful were: (1) Money & the Myths (2) Thoughts (negative/positive) (3) Money Story/Timeline (4) Money Happiness Number (5) Money Identities and great for couples the (6) Money Date.
