MAY 2025 – Graduation & Finances

Welcome!

May is the month filled with college applications and graduations. It is also the time financial planning is forefront on our minds.

How am I going to cover the cost? How am I going to create a path to afford my current life expenses and plan for wealth accumulation for the life of my dreams?

If you are like me, I am a little anxious with all the uncertainty in today’s world. The question, I am asking is: “How can I best protect myself and my financial future?”

Michael Cannive’s book “The Four-Minute Retirement Planning” offers a financial strategy to actively organize and manage your finances through his critical thinking tool called the “Four-Minute Retirement Plan”.  Michael discusses how using his plan as a tool can help you build security and wealth. The plan focuses on four financial categories: Lifestyle, Savings, Investing and Legacy. Michaels suggests rethinking finances to “enjoy present pleasures in such a way as not to injure future ones’.

One tool of his plan called “Simple -Posit Note Plan”, I especially found helpful.  Michael provided a photo sample of four different sticky posits handwritten formatted with the basic strategies you could display and begin at once to put the Four-Minute Retirement Plan into action. Michael noted “If you just did these things you’ll be ahead of most people”.

The plan is named, The Four- Minute… to give one an idea of the time needed to set aside and begin to spend on investing in their future financial goals.

I am always looking for helpful new ideas, resources and ways to feel prepared and in control in order to eliminate unnecessary anxiety, so one can enjoy the celebrations of life.
