WELCOME!

Thank you for spending your time with me today.

Time is precious.

If you are like me, I pack my calendar and go from one commitment, task, or project to another without stopping to enjoy a quiet moment to reflect on what is important to me.

This year, I began to seriously reflect on how I would reorganize and take control of my time going forward on my journey of life.  My question?   How can I make more time in my life for my priorities?  Where do I start?

Julio Vincent Gambuto’s book “Please Unsubscribe, Thanks! – How to take back our time, attention, and purpose in a world designed to bury us in bullshit” with its bright yellow cover and on point title caught my eye while browsing in one of my favorite libraries.  Julio Gambuto’s, noted his goal was “…. to create a framework for all of us to unsubscribe so we can truly renew our lives and create happy, meaningful satisfying futures”.

.

Julio shares his extensive knowledge of how modern life became so persistent and his in-depth understanding of our societies economic system.  He explains, today, we are in the “Click up -Economics” and details how the internet’s tools allowed the “5- BIG FORCES” more access to our time and money. In Julio’s detailed overview he exposes the 5 Big Forces interconnected marketing strategies. The 5 Big Forces are: 1) Big Tech (2) Big Brands (includes – Big Agriculture & Big Pharm) (3) Big Banks (3) Big Media (4(Big Parties and (5) Political.

In his book, Julio shares personal experience exposing his raw honest fears, frustrations and how he coped during his “unsubscribing” and “resubscribing renewal” journey in our digital world. He explains the importance of the 2 phases:

1. “Unsubscribe” - rethink digital habits, setting boundaries and building communication skills in order to be prepared to work through the hard challenges.

2. ” Resubscribing” - the renewal phase deciding what you valued in life going forward.

At each phase of his “unsubscribed” process, he offers practical exercises to help the reader (1) reflect on where your time, attention, money are given, and (2) provides resources for Tech steps to create your digital world based on values to meet ones goals. The 3 areas of your digital life to Unsubscribe from are:

1. “Surface subscriptions”

2.  “People Subscriptions”

3.  “Underlying subscripts”

After reading “Please Unsubscribe, Thanks!” I now know where to start to take back my time and I have gained valuable insights into today’s digital world.  Did I mention the added bonus? I will be saving money by being unsubscribed!

Looking forward to meeting you over a cup of coffee and conversation!
