MARCH 2026 - CONFLICT CONVERSATIONS & SECOND CHANCE

WELCOME!

Winter months in NYC can be a winter wonderland when we have accumulated snow. For me, this is a perfect time to enjoy an informative book in my warm NYC apartment.

One such book  I enjoyed reading was The Next Conversation – argue less, talk more in which Jefferson Fisher shares his journey as an 8 year old growing up in a family of lawyers to his 1st video made from his truck , the realization of his dream to help others “learn how to communicate”.

Mr. Fisher’s personal story is inspirational to follow your dream, and the books content is a valuable guide to how to re- think conversations.  He shares his lessons on communication from his years as an attorney. Mr. Fisher’s states when conversations have a problem “it isn’t what to say – it’s how to say it.”

Mr. Fisher offers questions to ask yourself and remember who you want to be in conversation:

1.      “Who do your words say you are?

2.       “Who you want to be and how you want to be remembered.”

He explains and provides as examples real stories of how  “using a function that shows you how to say it with control, say it with confidence and say it to connect  as  a set of tools and strategies can help you encounter any conflict” in conversations.

Mr. Fisher‘s book format is easy to use as a guide with chapter summaries I found useful as a quick reference to return to key points to help the reader (1)  rethink goals, (2) what to remember to consider and (3) for best ways on how to connect in your next conversation, such as:

  • The Power of Your Next Conversation – building confidence.

  • The Realistic goals to have in conversations- building trust.

  • Problems to overcome - making judgements and letting go of false beliefs.

I encourage you to pick up a book or e-book of The Next Conversation to read the next cold winter day.

Looking forward to meeting you over a cup of coffee & conversation!
